We are delighted to announce the appointment of Mike Hymanson MBE as Destination Florida’s, Honorary Life President.

This will be an ambassadorial role being made on account of his significant contribution to the Charity over many years.

Mike’s journey with our charity began in 1992 when he joined DFCC as a volunteer on the trip. A year later Mike was invited to join the Board of Trustees before taking the position as Chair in 1994, a position which he held for the next 30 years. Under Mike’s leadership the charity has taken over 1600 children from across the Northwest of England on a memorable trip to Florida. Mike’s many years of experience will bring an abundance of knowledge and expertise to our charity.

Mike has now retired from the board of trustees and will take on his new role as Honorary Life President.  He is committed to working with Destination Florida to bring hope, joy, and memorable journeys to the lives of children facing serious illnesses. Our shared vision, coupled with the wisdom and experience that our trustees bring, will further strengthen DFCC’s ability to touch the lives of young children and their families.

We are so pleased that Mike has agreed to take on this new role. We are confident that he will make a substantial impact to help us achieve our goal of taking children living with life limiting/changing conditions on a magical adventure to Florida.
